This special 1935A $1 Silver Certificate was issued for use during Operation Torch, the Allied invasion of North Africa. It has the standard 1935A Julian-Morgenthau signature. However, instead of blue, this note has a yellow Treasury seal to ensure immediate recognition (and devaluation) in the case of enemy defeats or the capture of huge amounts of currency. This historic World War II currency note, known as a "yellow seal" Silver Certificate, is very desirable among collectors.
